Updates to the Etchells Rules effective Next Year

The five proposed changes to the Class One Design rules:
1. Fully Self Contained Digital Compass Passed 205 for 72 Against (See Note Below) Submitted to ISAF for approval, If approved will become effective March 1, 2004.
2. Hiking Devices, Defeated 205/72
3. Affirmation of the Emergency Rule Change to OD Rule 7.4 which became effective July 2002 stating that 'hanging on the mast or shrouds to promote roll tacking or gybing is prohibited'. Passed 255/24. Submitted to ISAF for approval, Effective March 1, 2002.
4. Crew weight Clarification, a clarification of the wording with regards to the maximum weight crew weight of 285kgs Passed 266/10. Submitted to ISAF for approval, If approved will become effective March 1, 2004.
5. Revised Safety Rule 6, An update to the safety rule regarding minimum equipment standards Passed 214/62. Submitted to ISAF for approval, If approved will become effective March 1, 2004.
